Two cover families. Two different care methods.
01 / Slatted covers
Start with the cover’s care manual and identify the slat material and finish. Remove loose debris before it is pushed into the joints. Routine cleaning and targeted groove cleaning serve different purposes.
Dark deposits at a joint are not always the same as white mineral scale. Choose the method and product for the actual deposit, rather than increasing pressure or using a stronger chemical without checking compatibility.
The recommendations below concern accessible exterior surfaces and grooves, not the sealed air chambers inside a slat.
Recognise the problem first
Persistent marks, water inside a sealed slat, cracked end caps or a distorted profile need assessment—not more aggressive cleaning.
Check PVC/polycarbonate compatibility, coatings and the cover manual. Keep the cover stationary, exclude swimmers and prevent anyone operating it while tools are on the cover.
Work from the deck with an appropriate soft tool. Gently rinse away grit before wiping or brushing so it is not dragged over the surface.
Start with water and a compatible gentle cleaner where needed. Treat organic deposits and mineral scale with the correct product type—not a single strong cleaner for everything.
For a compatible cover, use DG SlatCare according to the supplied instructions and approved washer settings. Keep its guides seated correctly and work steadily from a secure poolside position.
Follow the cleaner’s rinse and runoff instructions. Remove dislodged debris, attend to the filtration system as directed and check pool-water balance after chemical treatment.
Remove every tool and hose. Check the slats, joints and obstructions, then operate only with a clear view and according to the cover manual. Stop if travel is abnormal.
Cleaning equipment / Supply only
A guided pressure-washer attachment for compatible slatted pool covers. DG SlatCare™ works with compatible pressure washers rated from approximately 110 bar to 180 bar, subject to the correct coupling and cover-approved operating settings. Position the guides along the groove, then move the head steadily to flush accessible build-up.

The guides position the head along the slat groove. Closely positioned jets deliver water across the cleaning area instead of relying only on a hand-held lance aimed from above.
It helps loosen and flush accessible dirt and organic build-up from the groove. Start with water; stubborn deposits may still require a compatible specialist cleaner.
It does not vacuum up the waste, sterilise the cover, clean sealed internal chambers or repair damage. Check and remove the debris released by cleaning.

Slatted-cover product guide
Product names are less important than the material approval and intended use. Ask for the correct formulation for your cover, including clear or solar polycarbonate surfaces.
Routine surface care
Use: loose dirt and light surface contamination after rinsing off grit.
Action: surfactants help wet the surface and lift dirt so it can be rinsed away. Choose a non-abrasive formulation approved for the exact cover.
Greasy or organic deposits
Use: oily films and compatible organic deposits, including build-up at accessible joints.
Action: loosens contamination before gentle agitation and rinsing. A cleaner is not automatically a disinfectant or a treatment for the whole pool.
Mineral deposits
Use: confirmed mineral or limescale deposits that normal washing does not remove.
Action: helps break down or release mineral deposits so they can be removed. Some formulations are acid-based; protect surrounding stone, metal and finishes and use only a cover-approved product.
Mixed deposits
Use: mixed contamination only when the formulation is approved for both the deposit and the cover material.
Action: combines functions in one specified product. It does not mean that separate cleaning chemicals can be mixed together.

02 / Fabric covers
This method is primarily for coated automatic safety-cover fabric, including Coverstar systems. It is not the slat-pressure-cleaning method, and it should not be transferred to other fabric or thermal-cover materials without checking their instructions.
Use a garden hose, an approved mild detergent or dedicated fabric-cover cleaner, and a non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth. Clean from a secure deck position and remove accumulated water before moving the cover.
Latham’s care guidance recommends fabric washing approximately every three to six months. Follow the manual for your own cover and clean sooner when conditions require it.
Inspect before scrubbing
Remove surface dirt and inspect the coating, seams and edges. Cracks, peeling, tears or weak areas need assessment. Do not try to correct them with stronger chemicals or harder scrubbing.
Keep water off the top of the cover as instructed. Do not use the fabric as a working platform.
Maintain the pool water level required by the manual; the water supports the fabric. Close the cover as instructed, exclude swimmers and prevent unexpected movement.
Use the suitable cover pump to remove standing water. Remove accessible leaves and dirt from the deck without walking or kneeling on the fabric.
Wet the fabric with a garden hose. Apply the approved mild detergent or fabric-cover cleaner and work gently with a non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth.
Rinse away cleaner thoroughly and manage runoff as instructed. Pump off accumulated water before any movement; do not roll up a cover carrying a load of wash water.
Where the cover manual permits staged cleaning, remove the pump, hoses and tools before moving. Refit the housing lid first. Stop the cover before continuing to clean.
Check the fabric and accessible tracks. Use a protectant only when approved for that coating and follow its drying instructions. Put the cover pump back in position whenever required.

Fabric-cover products & routine care
For routine surface cleaning. Confirm suitability for the coating and rinse as instructed; do not substitute a slat descaler.
A sponge, soft cloth or a tool expressly allowed by the cover manual. Use a garden hose for controlled rinsing from the deck.
Optional—not a universal requirement. Use only an approved product, with its specified application and drying method. It does not repair worn fabric.
The care documents also call for clearing debris from accessible tracks and housing drains. Keep the cover stopped while working, protect electrical equipment and do not remove or loosen tracks for routine cleaning.
Mechanical adjustment, ropes, pulleys, torque limiters and electrical work are not part of this cleaning guide. Follow the equipment manual or refer the issue to a qualified cover technician.

No. A rigid slatted cover and a coated fabric cover need different tools and cleaning products. The DG SlatCare pressure-washer attachment is for compatible slatted covers, not for Coverstar fabric, mesh safety covers or bubble/foam thermal blankets.
The indicative delivered total of AED 4,220.68 is based on the SS316 DG SlatCare unit with a 1.35 m stick, reference freight/import/local delivery and 5% VAT. A pressure washer and chemical cleaners are not included. No. It helps flush accessible slat grooves and loosen deposits. It does not clean inside sealed buoyancy chambers, repair leaks or restore damaged, faded or permanently stained material. Persistent deposits may need a compatible specialist cleaner or an inspection.
DG SlatCare™ works with compatible pressure washers rated from approximately 110 to 180 bar, provided the correct coupling is used. That range describes washer compatibility; it is not a universal cover-cleaning pressure. Always follow the cover manufacturer’s permitted method, operating pressure, temperature and nozzle-clearance requirements. A compatible detergent or organic-deposit cleaner is used for surface dirt, oils and suitable organic deposits. A purpose-formulated descaler is used for mineral or limescale deposits. Select by the actual cover material and finish, not just the colour of the stain. Follow the selected product label; dilution and dwell time are not universal.
The supplied care guidance recommends washing the fabric approximately every three to six months, with additional attention when dirt accumulates. Inspect regularly, keep tracks and drainage clear, and follow the manual for your exact system and local conditions.
No. Remove standing water using the suitable cover pump before moving the cover. Remove the pump, hose and cleaning tools before operating, keep the required pool water level, and refit the housing lid before movement. Never stand or walk on the cover to clean it.
Not automatically. This fabric section is primarily for coated automatic safety-cover fabric such as Coverstar. Bubble and foam thermal covers, mesh safety covers and other materials need their own manufacturer-approved instructions.
